Bunge sells products and services at numerous points along the food production chain, from farm to retail shelf. Each activity complements the next, creating a logical progression in which we transform bulk commodities into a host of value-added products, while creating multifaceted, mutually beneficial relationships with customers.

Bunge manufactures fertilizers and crop nutrients for farmers, from whom we buy grains and oilseeds. We ship these commodities in bulk to customers around the world, and process them into refined products, such as meals and oils. We sell meal to animal feed and livestock producers (to whom we also provide feed nutrients from our fertilizer business), and oil to food processors. We utilize oil in our own production processes to make a variety of shortenings and edible oils for foodservice and consumer markets.

Additionally, we mill wheat and corn for food processors and bakers, and create non-food products, including biodiesel, which are derived from our primary commodities.

Through a joint venture with DuPont, we turn soybeans into sophisticated protein ingredients that are used in a broad spectrum of foods.
